The UNO Spherical Antenna Positioners
From the compact UNO3 to the large-scale UNO6, the UNO series’ positioners are designed for professional over-the-air (OTA) 2D and 3D spherical antenna measurements. The classical azimuth-roll design ensures the broadest field of view possible, allowing for accurate measurements.
The UNO series can operate in a stand-alone mode as an azimuth-elevation positioner or paired with a matched roll mast.
An azimuth-roll-roll kit facilitates fully spherical measurements by incorporating a separate roll mast and synchronizing polarization with the roll axis. This eliminates any blockage of the radiation path, even for large antennas. The separate mast is also controllable individually, allowing cross-polarization measurements if needed.
The UNO6 is designed for a large walk-in chamber like our AC1224 and is ideal for large panel antenna arrays due to the clearance between the roll axis and the azimuth platform. It utilizes quality components dimensioned for high load throughout its design to ensure consistent and dependable performance.
The UNO5 and UNO3 follow the same principles as the UNO6 but are scaled down to offer a high-precision spherical positioner for smaller chambers. They are ideally suited for our desktop chamber series AC888 and AC1120, prepared for seamless mounting of the UNO3 and UNO5 and the opposing roll mast.
All UNO positioners include control and power cables, a 6-axis intelligent controller, 280W / 100-240V power supply, boresight laser, and Python reference code.
Versatile Configuration for Comprehensive Coverage
Operate the UNO series in stand-alone mode as an azimuth-elevation positioner or pair it with a matched roll mast for enhanced capability. The unique azimuth-roll-roll configuration, achieved by adding a separate roll mast, ensures full spherical measurements, eliminating radiation path blockage and ensuring uninterrupted data accuracy. UNO6 – Engineered for Scale and Precision
Designed for walk-in chambers like our AC1224, the UNO6 is the essence of robustness and precision. Its clearance allows for the testing of large antenna arrays, making it an asset for high-end antenna evaluations. All components are designed to withstand high loads and will guarantee consistent performance.
The “UNO6 Spherical Kit” includes an additional roll mast similar to the one on the UNO6 positioner, opening up for spherical theta-phi and polarization measurements.
The UNO6 is delivered with a multi-axis intelligent controller, so all three azimuth-roll-roll axes are individually controllable. Our Python reference code supports the UNO6 both as an azimuth-elevation or azimuth-roll-roll positioner.
UNO5 – Precision in a Compact Format
The UNO5 offers high-precision measurement capabilities similar to the UNO6. Still, it is in a more compact form, making it ideal for environments where space is at a premium, but compromise on accuracy is not an option. It shares DNA with the DUO series, and is CNC-machined from rigid polymer plastic and entirely metal-free in the upper section to reduce stray reflections effectively.
The UNO5 is designed to fit the AC1120-series chambers, which are prepared with cutouts and mounting holes for seamless integration with the positioner.
Mounted to our pedestal stand, it is equally useable for walk-in-sized chambers like the AC1224. The stand can be produced to the height needed to bring the roll axis equidistant between the ceiling and floor of your chamber.
UNO3 – Low-Cost Positioner for Smaller DUT/AUTs
The UNO3 is ideal for small DUT/AUT sizes and low weights. It offers a cost-effective and compact positioning solution that complements our two-armed DUO3 and DUO3.5 positioners.
Built with high mechanical strength, the UNO3 incorporates key design elements from the DUO3 series, and its construction ensures superior rigidity, especially when compared to a fully 3D-printed alternative. This approach of mixing 3D-printed and CNC-machined structures prevents deflection under load, which guarantees the same consistent quality and performance as in all our positioners. We’ve also retained the closed-loop motor system and the precision instrument azimuth platform used in our other positioners.
The UNO3 may be tailored for lighter loads, but it makes no compromises on quality but at an unusually low price.
Versatile Configurations:
- 2-Axis Setup: Using an elevation arm plate, the UNO3 can be configured as a single-arm azimuth-elevation positioner. This offers functionality similar to the DUO3 and DUO3.5 but optimized for lighter loads. See the 2-Axis Setup here.
- 3-Axis Setup: Adding an optional roll mast, the UNO3 transforms into an azimuth-roll-roll (3-axis) positioner, enabling full spherical measurements. The roll mast integrates seamlessly with the UNO3 and is fully controlled via the UNO3’s built-in controller, providing functionality similar to the UNO5 or UNO6.

Software
Python reference software is included with all our UNO and DUO positioners and exclusively uses standard Python functionality for the controlling code and the GUI. All applications are provided with clear, inline documentation to allow easy modifications or adaptation to your existing software environment.
Our multi-axis controller is powerful, with all essential system functions built-in, significantly simplifying the top-level software application. It makes it uncomplicated to develop a new application in any software language.
